Hannah fan

Hannah Fan is a classically trained opera singer and educator whose focus has always been to make music accessible for every student, particularly for students who may not have had many opportunities to participate in music otherwise. Her passion for opera inspired her to pursue arts administration avenues to bring opera to more classrooms and change its perception in the modern age to one of inclusion and accessibility. One of her greatest joys comes from witnessing students’ lightbulb moments when musical concepts that have previously been difficult finally become clear and a student realizes their own potential. As Program Manager of United Sound, she develops curriculum and creates opportunities for students to engage with new music and composers. 

She holds Bachelor of Music degrees with academic honors in both Music Education and Vocal Performance from Chapman University. She earned her Masters of Music Education from the Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education (formerly under the Boston Conservatory at Berklee), where she specialized in arts administration and working with students with disabilities. She also continues to perform regularly with local and international opera companies, and in recent years has found a love of conducting as well.
