2018 Summer Symposium
2018 Music for all summer symposium registration
We have long been thankful for our great partnership with Music for All. Because of Music for All, our students have performed at Grand Nationals with The Ohio State and Alabama Marching Bands, in the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade with the Band of America Honor Band, and for three consecutive years at the National Festival. They have welcomed our students and our ideas with the most open of arms and they support United Sound as a donor.
This summer, we’re going to try something even more inclusive! A full day summer camp experience. I’ve attached a flyer with schedule and pertinent information.
Here are some additional thoughts:
1. We will joining the Peer Teaching track of summer camp. This track consists of about 20 students who will have spent the previous four days learning about all sorts of peer teaching (some of it from me). We are really excited for them to spend a day with your musicians and the Peer Mentors who will accompany them. Your son/daughter will be with someone he/she already knows from their own school and 1-2 new friends for the day. More about the Peer Teaching track here: http://camp.musicforall.org/peer-teaching-program/ (DO NOT REGISTER FOR CAMP ON THE MFA WEBSITE.)
2. You are invited (asked) to stay as close as necessary. We’re planning meals for at least one parent, but two parents are welcome, for the day. Because I don’t know your child and their teachers will not be with us, I’m sure we’ll need your guidance and input along the way.
3. Yes, it’s a LONG day, but nothing is actually required. Need a break? Simply take your son or daughter out for as long as needed and join the group again when you can.
4. We have been allocated only 15 registrations, so this will fill on a first come, first accepted basis. How to secure your spot? Simply reply to this email. Then we’ll take care of everything else one step at a time.
