CJ is Colorado based composer who primarily writes progressive chamber and vocal music. Inspired often by the literary and visual arts, CJ enjoys incorporating theatrical qualities within the music itself. CJ also writes folk, singer/songwriter, and rock music as CJ's primary instruments are Guitar, Drums, Bass, and Piano.
CJ earned a Bachelors Degree with distinction in Music Composition from the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music and served as Drum Major for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from 2012-2014 where CJ now coaches current drum majors in conducting and leadership.
CJ also has a passion for engraving and producing printed music. CJ works as a music production engineer and music engraver at MakeMusic (the company that makes the software Finale, SmartMusic, and MusicXML), who's responsibilities include creating and editing the content for the SmartMusic repertoire library. Through an interest in font development work at MakeMusic, CJ has also created the UnitedSound font which will be featured in the latest editions of the United Sound music book series.
Though CJ is not a music educator himself, he is committed to using his versatile and unique set of skills to help music educators achieve their goals and worry less about the tech behind their job. For more information about CJ, feel free to visit: https://cjgarciamusic.wixsite.com/cjgm
